During online meetings with multiple participants it's not always easy to manage the meeting as a host. Therefore, Vectera offers features that can help you smoothen the meeting.
Before the meeting
Guide participants via the waiting room or meeting room link
Depending on your workflow and the type of meeting you can send customers a waiting room or a meeting room link.
Waiting room links allow you to send customers to a general waiting room where you can forward them to a personal meeting room. Learn more about waiting rooms in this help article.
Do you want to send one or multiple participants to a specific meeting room? Share the public meeting room link or give special access rights.
Give participants access rights
In a meeting with multiple participants, it's important to give each participant the correct rights. You can do this in the invite settings of the meeting room.
Send an invite via email or share a private access link to give special rights. Learn more about all the invite options in this help article.
During the meeting
During an online meeting it's important to keep control of the meeting so everything runs smoothly. You can take control of the whiteboards, mute participants, guide participants with the Raise hand feature and kick-out guests.
Control whiteboards with presenter mode
For some uses cases it's useful to have full control over uploading, opening and editing whiteboards and files, for example sales demos. You can use Presenter mode to control whiteboards in the meeting room.
Your guests will only be able to follow and interact via the chat or by speaking. Learn more about presenter mode in this help article.
Mute other participants
It happens that a meeting participant has a lot of interrupting background noises. In that case, it's very useful to mute that participant when he's not speaking.
As a meeting host, you can easily mute another participant by clicking on the green microphone in their video or name tile. For guests, it's not possible to mute other participants. Learn more about muting participants in this help article.
Guide muted participants with the Raise hand feature
During online meetings, participants might have questions but don't dare to interrupt the person who's talking. In that case, raising your hand virtually is a great and polite way to get attention without interrupting.
The raise hand feature allows you as a host to manage the meeting and decide who gets the word. Learn more about the raise hand feature in this help article.
Kick guests out of the meeting room
As a meeting host, you can kick out guests in multiple ways:
-
Kick out one specific participant by clicking on the remove button on their camera or name tile.
-
Kick out all the participants at the same time by selecting End call for everyone (but me)
-
Reset (a part of) the meeting room, which will kick all participants out of the meeting room but might also delete whiteboards, recordings, ...
